چکیده

Numerical deviation based optimization method for estimation of total column CO2 measured with ground based Fourier Transformation Spectormeter: FTS data is proposed. Through experiments with aircraft based sample return data and the ground based FTS data, it is found that the proposed method is superior to the conventional method of Levenberg Marquads based nonlinear least square method with analytic deviation of Jacobian and Hessean around the current solution. Moreover, the proposed method shows better accuracy and required computer resources in comparison to the internationally used method (TCCON method) for estimation of total column CO2 with FTS data. It is also found that total column CO2 depends on weather conditions, in particular, wind speed. Keywords—FTS; carbon dioxide; methane; sensitivity analysis; error analysis

Preliminary results from the Lauder site of the Total Carbon Column Observing Network TCCON

We give a brief description of the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON), a new network of ground-based Fourier Transform spectrometers (FTS) dedicated to measurement of greenhouse gas absorption (CO2, CO, N2O, CH4) in the near infrared. We present preliminary retrievals of CO2 total column densities from the TCCON site in Lauder, New Zealand between July 2004 – when routine measurement...

Long-term tropospheric formaldehyde concentrations deduced from ground-based fourier transform solar infrared measurements

We report a 13-year (1992–2005) dataset of total column measurements of formaldehyde (HCHO) over Lauder, New Zealand, inferred from solar infrared spectra measured using a high-resolution Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS). Ambient HCHO concentrations at this rural location are often close to levels typical of remote marine environments (<250 ppt), which are close to the detection limit using...

Sensitivity Analysis of Fourier Transformation Spectrometer: FTS Against Observation Noise on Retrievals of Carbon Dioxide and Methane

Sensitivity analysis of Fourier Transformation Spectrometer: FTS against observation noise on retrievals of carbon dioxide and methane is conducted. Through experiments with real observed data and additive noise, it is found that the allowable noise on FTS observation data is less than 2.1x10 if estimation accuracy of total column carbon dioxide and methane is better than 1(%). Keywords-FTS; ca...

Automated ground-based remote sensing measurements of greenhouse gases at the Białystok site in comparison with collocated in situ measurements and model data

The in situ boundary layer measurement site in Białystok (Poland) has been upgraded with a fully automated observatory for total greenhouse gas column measurements. The automated Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) complements the on-site in situ facilities and FTS solar absorption measurements have been recorded nearly continuously in clear and partially cloudy conditions since March 2009. He...

Accounting for aerosol scattering in the CLARS retrieval of column averaged CO2 mixing ratios

The California Laboratory for Atmospheric Remote Sensing Fourier transform spectrometer (CLARS-FTS) deployed at Mount Wilson, California, has been measuring column abundances of greenhouse gases in the Los Angeles (LA) basin in the near-infrared spectral region since August 2011. CLARS-FTS measures reflected sunlight and has high sensitivity to absorption and scattering in the boundary layer. I...
